You may be able to receive credit at Camosun for courses taken at other recognized post-secondary institutions.
Before submitting a request for transfer credit
- Review all instructions on this page.
- See Camosun’s Academic Calendar for info on transferring credits to Camosun.
- If you are transferring courses from another recognized B.C. post-secondary institution to Camosun College, use the BC Transfer Guide or the course-to-course search tool below to review current agreements.
Notes:
Study Abroad Students must speak to the Study Abroad Coordinator prior to submitting their transfer credit request.
Processing can take up to 8 weeks from the date of receiving all necessary documents and payment. Please note that we are unable to expedite requests. In cases involving complex assessments requiring consultation with other departments, processing time may be significantly longer. No transfer credit evaluations will be done if you have overdue tuition or fees.
Steps to requesting transfer credit
Step 1: Collect course syllabi
Collect course syllabi/outlines for all courses NOT listed in the BC Transfer Guide.
- Save each syllabus as a separate PDF. Do not combine multiple courses into one document.
- The academic year and term must be clearly displayed on the syllabus and they must match the course codes and dates listed on the transcript(s). Course descriptions are not accepted.
- If you are unable to obtain course syllabi, you may be able to receive credit through a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).
- Syllabi not written in English must have certified English translations attached to original documents.
Step 2. Order Official transcript(s)* from sending institution(s)
Official transcripts from recognized institutions** must be sent directly to Camosun from the sending institution(s) you attend(ed). Refer to the sending institution for instructions on ordering official transcripts.
Mail from institution to:
Admissions, Camosun College
4461 Interurban Rd
Victoria BC V9E 2C1

Note:
- Only courses with final grades can be assessed for transfer credit.
- Students who have completed Advanced Placement or IB courses must have their official transcript submitted by the College Board or the International Baccalaureate directly to Camosun College.
- Certified English translations must accompany the original documents if your transcript(s) are not written in English. Please follow the recommendations provided by the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES).
- A comprehensive Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) may be required. This can take up to an additional 8 weeks, for processing and does not guarantee transferability of courses.
- All transcripts and other documents filed in support of your transfer credit request become the property of Camosun College. Documents will not be returned unless they are deemed irreplaceable.
* Official Transcript: official version of a student’s academic record, bearing the seal of the institution and signed by the Registrar. To be considered official by Camosun College, a transcript must arrive in the original and sealed envelope from the sending institution, or emailed directly from the sending institution to admissions@camosun.ca.
** Recognized institution: An institution, authorized by the recognized government authority for university- or college-level higher education in that jurisdiction to be able to award credentials, including Certificates, Diplomas, Associate and Bachelor Degrees, that could be considered equivalent to a Canadian credential.
Step 3. Submit the request form
- If you have more than the allowable number of PDF files to attach, please submit a second form with the remaining documents.
- If applicable, complete a new form for each additional institution.
Note:
- Requests missing supporting documents will be cancelled after 6 months.
- If you do not have a Camosun Student ID, contact transfercredit@camosun.ca
Step 4. Pay for transfer credit evaluation
Within 5 business days of submitting your request, you will receive payment instructions to the email address on your student file. A fee is required for each transcript you wish to have evaluated; please note that all fees are non-refundable.

- Verify payment and view receipt:
- Go to ‘Student Finance’.

Step 5. View evaluation results
You will receive an email notification once your evaluation is complete. To view your ‘Transfer Summary’, log in to myCamosun and select ‘Academics’.
Note:
- Coursework completed more than ten years ago is not automatically eligible for transfer credit. Each case will be evaluated individually, and eligible courses will receive unassigned credit only. An Academic Advisor can then review the credits for applicability.
- Transfer credits are not included in the calculation of your Camosun GPA.
- Camosun College does not grant undergraduate transfer credit for graduate or higher-level courses.
