Chargers women’s basketball forward, Sadie McMillan-Stowards (Oak Bay High), was instrumental in two PACWEST wins this past weekend over the Okanagan Coyotes and Langara Falcons. She scored 22 points, adding 21 rebounds, while shooting 66 per cent from behind the three-point arch and 75 per cent from the free throw line. On the defensive side she added four steals.
The Chargers men’s volleyball team was led by their fifth-year Brazilian right side Vitor Pereira. On Friday, Pereira scored seven kills, two aces and a block in a tightly contested match. On Saturday, he was in end-of-season form and once again led the team with 17 kills, three aces, and four blocks. His 19 service attempts led to much needed points for the Chargers as they rallied from a 0-2 deficit to win in five.
